Following the success of their previous singles, 'There's A Mouse In My House' and 'It's The Squeeze', 'The Leader' continues to solidify their reputation for producing quality over quantity, embracing patience and homing in on their craft.
Having built a solid status amongst the London & UK underground live scene, it's no doubt they caught the attention of renowned producer Ali Chant. Joining forces with the Ali Chant founded label, Fascination Street Records (Oslo Twins, Pem), has resulted in a new chapter for the 4-piece, creating some of their darkest works to date.
'The Leader' has Dog Race expertly combining gothy post-punk, brittle indie-pop, and cold wave to create a spectral sound that is uniquely their own. Dark undertones are reminiscent of classic gothic influences, yet they manage to infuse a modern twist that keeps the sound fresh and intriguing.
A band that is constantly evolving, yet always relevant and intriguing, 2024 is proving to be a promising year for Dog Race.
